LCCC Offers Information Sessions for Graduates interested in the Bachelor Degree in Technical Leadership offered online at LCCC through Bloomsburg University

Today’s employers are hiring and promoting managers and supervisors with technical leadership skills in website development, leading co-located teams, conflict management and resolution, project management, who value workplace diversity and possess excellent communication skills. Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) in partnership with Bloomsburg University offers LCCC graduates an opportunity to transfer their 60 credit associate degree toward the Bachelor of Applied Science in Technical Leadership (BAS-TL) degree offered online.

LCCC students who graduated with an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or an Associate in Applied Science degree who are interested in the BAS-TL degree offered through Bloomsburg University will have an opportunity to attend free Information Sessions about the degree throughout the semester.

The Bloomsburg University BAS-TL Program is designed for the working professional. The Program is flexible with courses that can be completed full- or part-time and online.  Since the Program is offered at LCCC, students will be able to receive a degree from Bloomsburg University that is very affordable without having to leave the LCCC campus.

Pathways to Bachelor’s Degree

This unique program is offered through Bloomsburg University’s Department of Instructional Technology in partnership with Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) and Lehigh Career Technical institute (LCTI). The Bachelor of Applied Technology (B.A.S.) in Technical Leadership program provides the knowledge and skills needed by technical professionals for leadership roles and career advancement.

Providing a seamless pathway to a bachelor’s degree, the Technical Leadership program is designed in a 2+2+2 format – with multiple entry points that allows it to serve students in career technical high schools, community colleges and working technical professionals.

Students in the program gain knowledge and skills in several areas, including:

  • Effective communication and collaboration
  • Team leadership and project management
  • Workplace and cultural diversity
  • Financial and supervisory knowledge
  • Conflict management and resolution
  • Staff training and development

LCCC Students in Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), Associate of Science (A.S.) and Associate of Arts (A.A.) programs in technical fields may enter the B.A.S. in Technical Leadership program upon completion of their associate degree.

Working technical professionals who are graduates of LCCC’s technical associate degree programs will have the ability to continue on to a Bachelor’s degree by attending online courses.. For maximum flexibility, most program courses will be offered in the evenings.

LCTI High School students may begin the program during their junior and senior years by dual-enrolling in a technical associate degree program at LCCC. In this way, some students may be able to complete up to one year of college credits while simultaneously completing high school.

A Professional Advisory Board will be actively involved in the program, providing feedback that connects with industry trends and needs – and ensuring that program graduates have the credentials employers seek. The professional advisory board will also participate in the Technical Leadership capstone course and internship program.
